When an insured or a claimant and their insurer disagree upon the amount to be paid on a property claim, then upon written request of either party, a dispute may be submitted for an insurance appraisal. At SEPIA Group LLC, we have professional insurance appraisers in Florida to assist you.
The Process
Each party selects an appraiser who will evaluate the loss and determine the value of each damaged item. The two appraisers must come to a mutual settlement agreement. If the two appraisers can’t reach an agreement, they will select a neutral third party known as the umpire.
Each appraiser will be paid by the party selecting them, and the umpire expense shall be shared equally by both parties. The claimant and insurer are bound by the final decision of any two appraisers or the umpire.
